We just got word that the very first seventh-generation 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray garnered $1.1 million at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, with the winner being none other than NASCAR team owner and founder of the Hendrick Automotive Group and Hendrick Marrow Program – Rick Hendrick. Of course.
All proceeds will go to the College of Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan, while Mr. Hendrick will need to wait until the beginning of Corvette production in the third quarter of this year to get what is sure to become a historic, first-ever copy of the iconic American sports car.
